WTF!? Who'd rather live in a culture of beer, rather than fear? Oh me me me...

Okay, so I would like to get some more opinions on this whole story. The big question is, "What do the Boy Scouts have to do with this at all?" The headline Cub Scout Leader Arrested in BTK Killings. However his involvement with BSoA has nothing to do with the fact that he killed around 10 people. However, they also mentioned that he was "active at his Lutheran church," as well. Therefore, be warned, Lutheran Boy Scouts are most likely goign to kill you some time soon.

I'm gonna say that, headlines aside, it's a valid point to mention that this guy was active in church and a boyscout leader, since these sort of civic things aren't what you'd peg a serial killer as being a big part of. Y'know? I mean, the profile of a killer doesn't usually involve being a familiy man. They're usually loners, clowns and homo-gays. Wait, strike that homo-gay part.

The guardian article mentions the scouts and church when it says "Rader, 59, was arrested Friday. Authorities have declined to say what led them to concentrate on the married father of two, a scout leader and an active member of a Lutheran church." I don't know, I guess I just have a quibble with this as adding to the culture of fear worse than the fact that there was a serial killer on the loose. Maybe the scouts thing is a bit unnecessary, but as I understand it he was the president of his congregation, which is pretty important to a guy's life, I reckon.

Also, as a guy who has had to write headlines for a living (though a scant living it was) it's a pain in the ass to come up with something snappy. At least they managed that.
