"ichiban" Scavenger Hunt...you Decide...

While I was sitting in my office and reading Mr. Pape's fine blog, found here, I (for some reason) decided to begin yet another competition for myself while over here in Japan. So here's the deal: I want for you, my trusty (and few) readers to suggest items that you would like to see from Nippon...now lets not get too strange and or perverse, but I am thinking that you could suggest items and then I will make a posting of the final cut. I am looking for about 15-20 different things to either snap pictures of or to scan onto the internet (not directly, but moreover through the use of a scanner and computer). So please do not delay...let me know what you want to see and I will do my best. I love you all and be sure to drop me a line...by the way each person should send about 2-5 ideas, or more...since I only have about 2-5 readers each one of you should at least send 4. Okay you guys? Come on now...you've been with me for so long...don't turn your backs on me now.

Tell your friends too!!!

Dude, I read about (and saw a grainy, small picture of) a crane game on the street in Japan where you could pick up live lobsters. I want to see one, and I want to know how much it costs to play. If you find one, the odds of me visiting just doubled :-).

Brian, you bastard, that's totally what I was going to say. But I guess I'll just move on to another. Danny, could you get a picture of yourself inside one of those crazy hotel-like things where all it is is a tube that you sleep in? Or maybe just a big dresser with Japanese people sleeping in it ala Seinfeld.

Okay...so here's the deal: I have asked about the whole Lobster Crane game and I was told that they did at one time exist; but since have been taken away. However the whole tube hotel thing...well I do believe that can be arranged.

For everyone else...come on, Let's Challenge!

がんばります!

I'd like you to find a Japanese textbook...wait...we wouldn't be able to read it. Dang. The first other thing that comes to mind is you playing a game of "go" with somebody. I hear it's all over that place. Also, you could get a picture of someone dressed as Sailor Moon. That's one thing I picture all over Japan: cosplay ho's.

Ok Danny, hopefully this isn't too perverse for you, but I'd like to see a transvestite rugby player from Japan drunk on sake singing, "We will rock you". If I can't get that I don't know maybe just a couple pictures of your room?

I want to see the following letters... J, M, and K. They must be taller than you, but can be parts of other words if necessary. I figure this may be difficult since there probably isn't as many huge English letters around. And then a sign of the city that says Nippon. Basically I want to see JMK Nippon. I know, it's dumb, but it might be challenging.

That is a great challenge and I shall do my best. Glad to see you droppin' me a line. Thanks a lot and take care...watch for the results.

p.s. the Nippon is going to be friggin' tough...but it is a challenge none the less...

First danny, although it's trite, i'd like a picture of you and a Japanesian who is no taller than your waist -- a la _Lost in Translation_.

Second I want to see a picture of you vomitting rice with no less than 3 grains of rice clearly coming out of your nose. And I want horrified Japanesiacs watching in the background.

Last, I want a Japanfordian taking a HUGE bight out of a Big Mac while giving a thumbs up sign. and if you're really up for the challenge, I want a middle finger instead of a thumbs up.

And i want an email or a goodgame post when these pictures are up.

jeebus, drew...those were amazing ideas. really. no less than amazing, due to the last one in particular.

There's no way in hell I'd know the word "cosplay" if it weren't for the internet.
